Blogging has been around for a few years now. Most people use blogs to record their thoughts and lives, while the select few use them as a free way to make a fortune.

Then July 2007 he released Blogging to the Bank 2.0 which showed users his new methods to creating online wealth using blogs. But as I said earlier, the techniques used in these ebooks are now showing there age. Some of them are not even working in the slightest! This is where blogging to the bank 2010 comes into play.

My affiliate sales were getting stolen by link hijackers

A couple weeks ago I noticed I was suddenly making a lot less sales than I was used too. Now I wasn't quite sure what was causing this - especially since this is normally one of the best times of my year for selling. I went ahead and remade my opt-in pages and rewrote my entire sales funnel and split tested. The results? Absolutely no difference, it was converting at under 5%... that's atrocious!

After spending some time talking to others and trying to get to the bottom of this I realized why I wasn't making sales - or rather, why I wasn't getting credit for the sales that I actually WAS making. Apparently there is a new problem called link hijacking that is becoming more and more prevalent with affiliate marketing. Basically this means that no matter how good my sales funnel was, or how many people it convinced to buy a product, I wouldn't get any sales.

I guess I should quickly explain how link hijacking works. There are two different ways with the second being more common and more easily avoidable - if you know how.

The first way is that when you direct someone to a product, they change the affiliate ID to their own to credit themselves with the sell. This is hard to stop because they know what they're doing and are most likely an affiliate themselves. This is just something you have to get used to, but this shouldn't affected your sales nearly as much as the next way.

The other thing that can cause you to not get credit for a sale is spyware. More notably a new type of spyware that is now invading the internet that will automatically change affiliate ID's to those of the spyware's creators. That means that the more work you put into making sells, the more sells you are making - for the creator of that spyware!

One way to mostly fix the first problem and completely fix the second problem is through the process of link cloaking. This means that you hide the url to the website with your own redirect cloak so that spyware can't change the affiliate ID and users can't find it to change it themselves.

You may have heard of services such as TinyURL or Bit.LY, these are great services for shortening URLs, but they shouldn't be used for link cloaking because they often break affiliate cookies (which means you won't get credit for sales). Instead you should find one of the link cloaks available specifically for affiliate marketing.

They will always be an unquenchable demand for valuable information via the Internet and as long as this demand remains in place there will be a large number of directory sites to provide results. If you want to achieve great article marketing results, you need to distribute your well written articles in as natural a fashion as possible to as many appropriate destinations as you can come up with.

To get yourself ready for a new article marketing campaign, make sure that you have all your elements together and are well researched. This includes the keywords appropriate to your item as well as the raw information that you need to brush up on before you start writing. EBAY BAN ON DIGITAL PRODUCTS

It's true!, eBay has announced that from 31st March 2008 digital products will be banned from sale on it's site. This is in response to actual or perceived manipulation of the feedback system. Click here to read the announcement. Now I know that many of you will be devastated by this news, but let's look to see if there is a positive slant to all this.

Hopefully it will weed out those sellers who were devaluing the price of e-books as a whole by selling them for a fraction of their worth. Also you can still advertise your products via the Classified Ads format. This may in fact work out cheaper than a conventional listing.

Also you can try putting your products onto CD/DVD and selling them as a physical item. In this way you will actually be able to charge more for your product than before.

Am continuing to list items on eBay and looking for more ways to make this business a profitable one. I have discovered that as far as eBay goes there seems to be an infinate numbers of ways to generate a profit.

These vary from selling goods either on an auction basis, buy now, or from your own eBay store. To setting up links to other peoples products and sending interested people to these items. In this way you don't even need to have any products of your own, eBay pays you as an affiliate a percentage of its final valuation fee on successfull completion of each sale. Provided you were the one that sent the successfull buyer to that item.

I made my first sale today on eBay, not a momentous thing of note you may say, but to me just starting out, it is a little milestone on my journey to wealth that is worth recording.

Well I finally got my ebay rating up to the point where I am able to list my first E-book. This was done last night and the listing will be available for seven days or until the item sells.

I will update with any further news on this front when and if the product sells. In the meantime its time to get another item ready to list.

Hi again,

Not a lot to tell you about at the moment, have reached my first target of a rating of 10 on ebay and will list my first e-book today. Apart from that I am busy correlating all my e-book details and site information onto a spreadsheet so that I can keep track of everything more easily.

I am finding out that initially there is quite a lot more work involved than I had realized. Still as everyone says you must treat these projects as you would any business startup.

I've spent the last couple of days trying to get my feedback rating on ebay up to at least 10. The reason for this is because a rating any lower than 10 does not allow you to list your ebooks for sale as a buy now item, and according to ebay's rules for selling ebooks, you must list them as a buy now item and not as an auction listing.

As well as this I'm still working on my download emails for the website, (nearly done).

Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have my feedback rating at 10 and will be able to list my first e-books on ebay.

Domain Name & Hosting

Well having got my website downloaded to my computer and spent a while changing various html links to match my own details, it was time to choose a domain name and arrange some web hosting.

For both I chose a company here in the UK called 1&1.co.uk Ltd.
The domain name for my website will be EonBookStore.com which will be up and running hopefully by the time you read this post.

However there is still a lot of work to be done regarding the downloading side of things from my website when anyone makes a purchase. For example I need to write all the emails regarding download links so that you can actually receive your purchase. Eventually I will invest in some software to make this happen automatically, but for now please bear with me and wait a little while for an email to arrive with the details you require. Like you I still have a full time job to go to.

My New E-book Venture

Welcome to my blog. This is being written alongside my venture into the world of on-line marketing. As I progress each stage of my journey I will record the result's in this blog so that other's may learn both from my mistakes ( and I am sure there will be many ) as well as from any successes I may achieve.

For my first dip into on-line marketing I have chosen digital information product's as these can be easily uploaded to my web space. At first I am going to try and sell product's that are already written but later on I will try writing my own e-books.

As a first step along this road I have cheated a little by joining a program, which as part of the package gives you a fully stocked e-book website. All I have to do is get a domain name and some web hosting and upload the site.
